What are the advantages of the Hop Gun?
The practical experience shows that the Hop Gun leads to higher consistency and guarantees a very intense contact from the beer with the hops. This resultsin a more economic dry hopping, what effects financial savings. Further more your beer reaches a brighter and more smooth hop body.
What is the recommended flow through the Hop Gun? Which pump should be used?
General flowrate should be between 50 -200 hl/h depending on the size. For circulation of the beer use a normal centrifugal cellar beer pump. Try to turn around the volume of the Hop Gun about 50 times/hour. If that's getting to high, just take the flow down and adapt to your conditions. For best results turn around the tank volume approx. 2-4 times.
What is the recommended pressure on the Hop Gun while dry hopping process?
While filling the Hop Gun at the beginning of the process, the pressure should be a max. 0.1 bar less than in the CCT.
When the Hop Gun is totally filled up, just raise the pressure about 0.1-0.2 bar over the tank pressure to maintain the CO2 level and prevent foaming.
